Great News!

Tim got back from New York last week with a head cold. But that's not the good news, it's just mildly amusing.

I would like to take the time to let everyone know that Tim has now received his Level 1 Sake Sommelier Certification. *Claps hands*

Sake Pirate - Started in Dallas, it has already gained significant momentum. We are in talks with other Level 1 Sake Sommeliers (and one or two level 2s) about expanding to California and New York. This is a very exciting time to be part of sake culture in America. But wait... what exactly is Sake Pirate? Sake Pirate hosts a series of sake tasting classes that are designed to help people understand what a wonderful world sake can be.

Too many people go to sushi bars and order a "shot" of sake while under the impression that the small glass means it's similar to tequila. They also assume that hot sake is the only variety available. We aim to change all of that.

For those of us in Dallas, TX, be sure to check out SakePirate.com regularly to learn when and where the next tasting class will be held.

Also, for those on Facebook, be sure to follow Sake Pirate's Facebook page. It gets updated regularly with sake reviews and awesome photos of our favorite sake.
